Timeline: How the Lake Mary All-Stars got to the Little League World Series

WILLIAMSPORT, Penn. – It was a close game, with tension running high on Tuesday evening until the Lake Mary All-Stars secured a sweeping 6-1 victory.

Despite team’s win, Lake Mary’s journey began long before, with practices starting back in the winter.

The Lake Mary All-Stars have been on a great journey so far in the Little League World Series. It all started at the end of July, when the team won the Florida State Championship for the second consecutive year.

Afterward, they swept four teams, ultimately becoming the Southeast Region Champs on Aug. 6.

The team’s journey continued as they returned to Seminole County the next day from Georgia, where they were greeted with much fanfare from their supporters.

Just hours after their return, the All-Stars departed for Williamsport on Aug. 8.

The whirlwind continued with a parade on Aug. 13, where tens of thousands of people cheered them on.

The very next day, they made their Little League World Series debut, defeating the Midwest Region.

On Aug. 16, they secured a 4-1 win against the Northwest Champs from Washington.

However, they faced their toughest opponents yet and were defeated by the Southwest Champions from Texas on Monday.

The strong return for the Lake Mary boys is sure to bring momentum to their next game Wednesday at 7 p.m., where people are expected to once again gather at Friendly Confines locally.
