ORLANDO, Fla. – “Mama’s Comedy Show” is collaborating with Theatre South Playhouse to bring comedy for a cause.
Leaders from the theatre said the fundraiser is needed, because Governor Ron DeSantis unexpectedly vetoed $32 million in arts funding in June for the 2025 fiscal year.

“Mama’s Comedy Show has been performing in Central Florida for more than 15 years. The cast first started at Sleuths Mystery Dinner Theater.
“The owners of Sleuths weren’t sure how an R-rated show would do, so they gave us a four-show ‘trial run.’ All four shows sold out, and we exploded into a pertinent run until February of this year, when we moved to Ten10 Brewing, closer to the heart of Orlando,” said Todd Feren. the founder of the comedy show.
The performance is similar to the television show, “Whose Line is It Anyway?” where the audience is in control.
Feren explained why the show is called, ”Mama’s Comedy Show.”
“For the duration of the show, we are all one big happy family. We call each other cousins (including the members of the audience). We found that forming this familiar relationship with the audience tears down walls and eases tension.”
The family friendly version of the R-rated show is on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m.. All proceeds will go towards the Theatre South Playhouse Arts Funding Drive. Click here to purchase tickets.
