Lake Mary, Fla. – Many of the Lake Mary All-Stars returned to school for the first time since the Little League World Series began a few weeks ago.
Garrett Rohozen, Hunter Alexander, and Lathan Norton all went to Markham Woods Middle School on Tuesday.
The team came back on Monday from Williamsport, Pennsylvania after winning the Little League World Series championship on Sunday against Chinese Taipei.
“I’m a little bit nervous, but I’m just happy it’s going to be an easy day,” Rohozen said.

Banners and balloons were placed right at the entrance of the school and the boys were greeted by their friends and teachers.
“Our classes yesterday made posters for the guys. We had little confetti cannons streamers things like that and as soon as they came in everyone started cheering, high five’s, back slapping, that sort of thing,” Principal Jason McDonald said.

The team missed the first two weeks of school, but McDonald said they aren’t too far behind with work.
Seminole County Public Schools released a statement to News 6 congratulating the team which read:
“We are incredibly proud of the tremendous achievement of this team. They showed the world that through hard work, resilience, and believing in yourself, you can achieve great things. More importantly, the sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament is a testament to the character of these players and coaches.”

The city of Lake Mary said it is planning to host a parade this Saturday, calling it a “once-in-a-lifetime celebration.”
