Fire chief estimates nearly $1M in damage, city spokesperson says

MAITLAND, Fla. – Maitland firefighters knocked down a fire early Wednesday that destroyed three city-owned vehicles, including a back-up rescue vehicle, a city spokesperson said.

The fire broke out at the city’s Public Works Department facility on Fennell Street, located next to the fire station and police department.

“The three damaged vehicles include an emergency rehabilitation vehicle, a backup rescue vehicle and a skid-steer (not a fire vehicle),” a city spokesperson said in a statement.

The city also said the fire chief estimated almost $1 million in damage from the fire.

There were no injuries reported.

No other information, including how the fire started, has been released.
