Trooper Steve on Patrol gets results for dogs at Orange County Animal Shelter

7 dogs featured on News 6 have been adopted since February

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – There’s a new dog up for adoption at the Orange County Animal Shelter and his name is “Trooper Steve.”

Yes, you read that correctly!

Workers at the shelter said “Trooper Steve” the dog arrived this week after he was left abandoned and workers decided to name him in honor of our very own traffic expert.

“It is quite the honor to have a dog named after him,” spokesperson Bryant Almeida said.

Since February, Trooper Steve has introduced multiple dogs in need of homes through Trooper Steve on Patrol.

Seven dogs from Orange County Animal Services have gotten adopted by families after airing on News 6.

“Word has gotten around and, people, they get very excited when they see the dogs that they see here when they see them on TV, so they actually call us or email us and ask for the dog on the Trooper Steve (segment),” Almeida said.

Last week, a dog named Sky went to a new home less than 24 hours after she was featured on Trooper Steve on Patrol.
