ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando International Airport is honoring Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting people in the community and creating a space for celebration.
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) in partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Network of Orange County and Duke Energy is bringing a lineup of events to the Central Florida community as part of Orange County’s “Pioneers of Change” initiative, which was created to celebrate the month and honor the area’s diversity.

Until Oct. 15, travelers can visit Gallery MCO at the Orlando International Airport to see artwork created by local Hispanic artists. The exhibit features more than 20 pieces by artists from various countries such as Peru, Venezuela, and Cuba. Each piece was designed to provide an artistic look into Hispanic culture.

Along with the art gallery, GOAA plans to host a flamenco-inspired live music event on Friday, Sept. 13, featuring the Don Soledad Trio. Another live music event will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, with Mariachi Oro Internacional.
On Sept. 27, a special area in the airport will reserved for dominoes for travelers to enjoy while waiting for flights.
GOAA is also celebrating its employees with a karaoke event on Oct. 4 and a special social media feature highlighting Hispanic employees on Oct. 11.
The airport’s lineup of events falls in line with its commitment to creating a diverse space that honors the Orlando community, a news release states.
