Missing Florida woman, dog found safe after getting into white van

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – A woman and her dog have been found safe after being reported missing last week, according to the Port Orange Police Department.

Details about her recovery were not released on Friday.

In a news release, police said that the woman — Elizabeth Salinas, 68 — was last spotted on Sept. 24 after she left her home in the Fruitland Park area.

At the time, Salinas had her dog with her and was getting into a “white work-type van,” investigators explained.

Before her disappearance, Salinas was wearing a blue and orange-colored dress. She was described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, about 120 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

According to investigators, her daughter had been unable to contact Salinas since last week.

However, police announced that Salinas had finally been located safely on Friday, Oct. 4.

No additional information has been provided at this time.
