Reward offered for info after person shot, injured at Jervey Gantt Park in Ocala, police say

OCALA, Fla. – One person was taken to the hospital after being shot at Jervey Gantt Park on Saturday evening, according to the Ocala Police Department.

There was a heavy police presence reported at the park after an adult was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the police department.

According to a news release, a youth football game was happening at the time of the shooting.

Police said scene was secure and there was no danger to the community.

In an update Sunday, police urged anyone with information on the shooting to come forward and call the department at 352-369-7000 to submit a tip, or Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-7867 or **TIPS to remain anonymous. Tips to Crime Stoppers which lead to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000, police said.
