TAVARES, Fla. – Two people in a Tavares mobile park were found dead, likely from carbon monoxide poisoning, after they used a generator following Hurricane Milton, according to the police department.
Perry Leintz, 67, and Constance Albrecht, 85, were found dead Tuesday inside a home along Holly Drive in Tiki Village Mobile Park.

The Tavares Police Department responded to the mobile home around 1:45 p.m. for a well-being check after receiving a call reporting that the two, believed to be a couple, had not been seen since the storm.
The department said detectives learned from neighbors that the two were using a generator after losing power. The generator was inside a shed that was connected to the home, and neighbors said they warned them of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, police said.
Police said the victims showed signs of carbon monoxide poisoning but an official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.
An investigation is ongoing.
