PALM BAY, Fla. – A Palm Bay officer left a man paralyzed after using a Taser on him earlier this year, according to attorney Ben Crump.
In a release, Crump said that the incident happened on June 28, which is when five men fled a Circle K gas station as they were approached by the officer.

One of the men — identified as Thomas Farley — was Tasered by the officer as Farley was climbing a fence, which caused Farley to fall, the release claims.
“This action left Farley paralyzed from the neck down,” the release reads. “The video footage shows Officer Mitchell’s use of force. A police officer is heard on video saying the men committed no crimes.”

As a result, Crump announced that he and Farley’s family will be holding a news conference on Wednesday in Melbourne to “call for accountability” from the police department and push for charges to be filed against the officer who Tasered Farley.
The conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Holmes Regional Medical Center at 1350 Hickory St.
