ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman was arrested this week on murder and other charges in connection with the Christmas 2022 disappearance of an Orlando woman who was her roommate, officials said.
Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, was arrested Thursday in Hartford, Connecticut, in the disappearance of Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, who was last seen on Dec. 25, 2022. Two days later, Victoria-Gonzalez reported to police that her roommate was missing, and she has not been found.
Orlando police have not clarified why Victoria-Gonzalez faces a murder charge if Medina-Pacheco’s body has not been located.
According to police, Victoria-Gonzalez gave them inconsistent statements, and when they executed a search warrant at her home, the was evidence of a violent incident.
Police said they coordinated with local, state and federal authorities to develop probable cause to arrest Victoria-Gonzalez, who was in Hartford.
Victoria-Gonzalez faces charges of second-degree murder, one count of tampering with physical evidence and one count of grand theft.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to call the Orlando Police Department or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
