According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the pilot reported that a laser was pointed in his direction and gave deputies his location, adding that the culprit was a man wearing no shirt, a hat and something around his neck.

Butterworth was found sitting on a bench in the 4100 block of Clarcona Ocoee Road and was an “exact match of the subject we were looking for,” sheriff’s officials said.

According to deputies, a charging box with a light was found in Butterworth’s possession, and when the light was turned on a bright green laser was emitted from the top and “could be seen at great distances.”

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Butterworth was arrested and taken to the Orange County jail.
