ORLANDO, Fla. – As the latest Electric Daisy Carnival gets underway in Orlando, police are sharing tips for how to try to track down a missing cell phone.

The Orlando Police Department on social media shared the following three steps to follow in case your phone goes missing during the event.

  1. If you can access your phone’s location and see that it’s pinging at Camping World Stadium or at the Orlando Police Department, you should go to lost and found.
  2. If your phone’s not in lost and found, try to call it until someone from EDC or the Orlando Police Department potentially finds it and picks it up.
  3. If your phone is missing and has been turned off, or if it’s pinging from anywhere besides Camping World Stadium or the Orlando Police Department, file a police report online by clicking here or by using the OPD App.

News 6 has asked the police department to keep us up to date with any potential phone thefts that occur during EDC.

Earlier this year, we reported on a rash of phone thefts that occurred during Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, what the sheriff’s office said impacted “too many victims to list.” At least six people were arrested in connection to the thefts throughout the May music festival, all of whom faced varying charges of grand theft.
