ORLANDO, Fla. – After a stellar year in 2023, News 6 photographer and “Black Men Sundays” podcast host Corie Murray’s turkey drive is back again.
Now until Nov. 20, online donations are being accepted to help feed families of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida for the holidays.
“With the high prices of food, just with the inflation in general, I’m tired of hearing families say that they have enough for the sides but they don’t have enough for the turkey, so we’re providing the turkeys this year,” Murray said in 2023.
A donation of just $30 will provide one turkey for a family’s holiday spread. Murray’s goal is to feed at least 50 families.

Last year, Murray’s turkey drive well surpassed its goal by raising enough money for a record 232 turkeys. A majority of the donated turkeys came from the nonprofit Light Orlando.
The surplus of turkeys expanded the drive across three Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida instead of just one as originally planned.
“It takes a village and Corie is now part of that village and we are so happy to have him and be able to provide these turkeys to our families,” said Nicco Palmero, service director at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, at the 2023 turkey drive.
