Hello, holidays: Light Up Ocala brings over 100 vendors, parade to downtown

Event runs from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday

OCALA , Fla. – Downtown Ocala will be filled with the festive spirit as Light Up Ocala kicks off the holidays this weekend.

The event on Saturday will run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Over 100 vendors will set up in the downtown area, offering crafts, arts and food options.

“Live entertainment will fill the air with festive sounds and an interactive kids zone will keep the whole family entertained. You won’t want to miss the Junior Sunshine holiday parade with a special appearance by Santa,” event organizers wrote online.

The Junior Sunshine Parade will kick off at 3 p.m. at the corner of S. Magnolia Avenue and E. Fort King Street.

There will be several zones throughout downtown with various activities:

  • Stage One – Downtown Square
    • Location: One SE Broadway St.
    • Time: 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Entertainment: Live music by Stereo FM
      • Lighting Ceremony will be held here at 7 p.m.
    • Activities: Holiday tree photo opportunities
  • Stage Two – Citizens’ Circle
    • Location: 151 SE Osceola Ave.
    • Time: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Entertainment: A community showcase with local dance and performance groups
    • Activities: Meet and greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus
  • Midtown Street Party
    • Location: In-between NE First St. and NE First Ave.
    • Time: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Entertainment: Live DJ, Acrobatic Variety Show, and Jump Rope performances

There will be shuttle services available from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
