‘Can picture her growing up:’ 58 children Central Florida children find forever homes on National Adoption Day

The children exited foster care and united with their forever families in Orange, Osceola, Seminole counties

ORLANDO, Fla. – Christmas came early for the Robinsons and many other Central Florida families as 58 children officially exited foster care and entered their forever families.

“We were trying so hard to get her back to her real family, but we had become a part of her real family all along, and they were already a part of ours,” Tiffany Robinson said.

After two years of what the family thought would be a temporary stay, Ivory, an adorable two-year-old, is now officially a permanent part of their family.

When asked about taking Ivory home for the first time as part of their family, Tiffany Robinson, said, “To be honest, it’s going to involve a bottle and a nap.”

Ivory is one of the 58 Central Florida children who had their adoptions finalized this week in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Brevard counties during National Adoption Month.

“We are starting to see more options,” said Valerie Holmes, vice president of Family Partnerships of Central Florida. “Our goal is always reunification with parents, and if that’s not successful, then this is a very happy ending for us.”

This milestone comes one week before Thanksgiving and the same week the Robinsons met Ivory two years ago.

“Now we can picture her growing up,” Tiffany Robinson said. “We can imagine her going to ballet classes, even the little moments like that. Those were things you would normally think about when you have a child, but for two years, we were on pause. Today, we are honored to adopt not only our little Ivory, but also her family as our own.”
