They said Susan Voigt told officers that her son, Joseph Voigt, 23, shot both of them and then fled the house. Susan is in critical condition at an area hospital, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Joseph Voigt was found early Sunday morning by Orlando police officers along International Drive. They conducted a traffic stop and took him into custody.
Investigators who interviewed Voigt say he admitted to shooting his parents, and that his father was upset about the suspect’s life choices, the sheriff’s office said.
Joseph Voigt is in Orange County Jail, awaiting transfer back to Polk County.
