SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Two women accused in a fatal shooting that Sanford police said was livestreamed on social media have been indicted on murder charges, according to the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office.
Savon Tyler, 35, and Lakevia Pringle, 31, were each indicted Tuesday by a grand jury on a charge of first-degree murder in the Nov. 5 shooting death of 34-year-old Lauren Martin, the state attorney’s office said in a news release.
Police said the shooting occurred in the evening near the Greystone Townhomes along Oregon Avenue, where officers reportedly located Martin lying wounded in the road.
According to detectives, Martin had driven to Tyler’s home regarding an argument that eventually turned physical and led to the shooting.
Pringle was there during the fight, police said, adding she livestreamed it and could be heard “encouraging Tyler to continue the altercation, which led to the homicide of Lauren.”
Tyler told police that she was in fear of Martin, yet investigators say evidence from the scene, the recorded video and witness testimony didn’t support her self-defense claim.
Tyler and Pringle are being held at the Seminole County Jail on no bond.
