Orange County mosquito control truck stolen during waterway inspection, officials say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man made off with an Orange County mosquito control truck while an employee was inspecting a waterway on Monday morning, according to a news release.

Officials with Orange County Health Services said the incident happened around 9:15 a.m. on Oberry Hoover Road in east Orange County.

According to the release, the Orange County Mosquito Control employee exited the truck to perform routine mosquito activity checks on a ditch in the area.

Officials said while the employee checked the ditch, an unidentified man rode up on an electric bicycle and stole the truck. The bike was left at the scene.

According to the release, the employee was not injured.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
