BELLEVIEW, Fla. – Marion County firefighters had to pay multiple visits to an unoccupied home in Belleview that caught fire twice before sunrise Saturday.

Crews first arrived at 2:15 a.m. to the 10500 block of SE 50th Avenue after a 911 caller reported heavy flames coming from a home across the street, Marion County Fire Rescue said on social media.

Firefighters reported the home was 30% involved in flames, the post states. With some added help as more units arrived, firefighters launched an interior attack while rescue crews searched the building twice. The fire was declared under control at 2:25 a.m. after a fire investigator was called upon to determine the cause, according to the post, adding all crews had left the scene by 4:59 a.m.

At 6:43 a.m., however, units responded to the same location after the fire reignited, the post states. This time, arriving crews reported the home was 50% involved in flames before quickly putting out the blaze, according to the fire department. The second fire was reportedly called under control by 6:57 a.m.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office was still said to be investigating the cause and origin of the fire at the time of this report.
