ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – News 6 is taking our newscasts back on the road in 2025, and we are kicking things off in Ormond Beach.

The coastal community, known as the birthplace of speed, has a diverse history dating back several centuries. According to the Ormond Beach Historical Society, the area was populated by Native Americans and developed by sugar cane planters, ship builders and more. It was also the site of the first timed automobile race in 1903.
