Missing 2-year-old found in lake expected to survive, Sanford police say

SANFORD, Fla. – A missing 2-year-old boy was found in a lake on Friday, according to the Sanford Police Department.

In a release, police told News 6 that officers responded to the 500 block of North Palmetto Avenue in reference to the missing child.

“As officers arrived, they were notified that the child was located in a nearby lake,” the release reads. “The child was transported to a local hospital in a life-threatening condition.”

Police also explained that the child was only missing for a couple of minutes before being located.

On Saturday morning, Sanford Police told News 6 the child is expected to survive.
