VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A reality TV star was arrested on Thursday after a nearly year-long investigation into a real-estate fraud scheme out of Volusia County, according to the sheriff’s office.
In an affidavit, deputies said they were initially alerted to the scheme in September 2025 after victims reported they’d been scammed out of around $196,000.
The alleged scheme
A Volusia County Sheriff’s Office affidavit describes a fraudulent land sale involving a vacant parcel in Orange City.
Investigators say the legitimate owners’ identities were used to make the property appear for sale, and a buyer wired nearly $200,000 to what was presented as an escrow/title account connected to Old Republic Title — but detectives say the escrow setup was not legitimate.
Who is Salomes Jackson?
Detectives allege 40-year-old Salomes Rengifo Jackson — a New York City resident and reality TV personality — was a central figure in receiving, moving and spending the stolen money.
The affidavit states Jackson “exercised direct control” over accounts used to receive funds, transfer them through multiple business accounts, and withdraw or spend the proceeds.

Following the money (what investigators say)
- About $196,000 was wired into a Bank of America account labeled “Old Republic Title LLC,” which investigators describe as tied to identity theft.
- The affidavit alleges Jackson personally received about $178,786.65 of the stolen funds.
How detectives say they built the case
Investigators traced transfers and withdrawals across multiple accounts, some allegedly opened using stolen identities, and reviewed records tied to how and where the money was withdrawn and spent.
Jackson now faces charges of money laundering, grand theft, organized scheme to defraud, and using another person’s ID without consent. She is held on bond of $275,000.
