2 workers injured after roof collapse at Winter Garden construction site

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Two construction workers were injured after a roof collapse at a building under construction in Winter Garden, according to the Winter Garden Fire Rescue Department.

Units responded to the site on 1144 E. Plant Street on Thursday after the commercial building’s roof gave way. Both workers were on the roof at the time of the collapse. Both workers were transported to the hospital under trauma alert protocols, fire officials said.

Winter Garden’s building department has been notified and was on scene.
