COLUMBIA, S.C. – A Delta flight was forced to make an emergency landing Monday when the cabin filled with smoke.
The incident occurred shortly after the plane departed from Atlanta en route to Columbia, South Carolina.
Video taken by a passenger shows a thick haze inside the aircraft.
“No sooner after we took off... the plane was filled with smoke,” a passenger recounted. “People were on the plane saying, ‘Smoke, smoke, smoke.’ You know, yelling.”
Delta Airlines reported that all 94 passengers and five crew members were safely evacuated once the flight returned to Atlanta, using emergency slides.
No one was hurt in the incident.
As of now, the cause of the smoke remains unclear.
