OCALA, Fla. – National Transportation Safety Board is investigating after officials say a plane crashed Friday evening at the Ocala International Airport.
According to Lt. Woods, with Ocala Police Department, the pilot was a woman who has yet to be identified.
The woman was life-flighted to Shands, with burns on her arms and legs, but officials said her injuries are not life-threatening.
Officials said the plane was an experimental, single-engine, light sport aircraft.
The airport's continued operating as normal Friday.
The director of the airport told Local 6 that the Federal Aviation Administration would begin an investigation at the airport Saturday morning at 10 a.m. They will be interviewing the pilot and any witnesses to figure out what caused the crash.
