Several people hospitalized after SR 528 crash, officials say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Several people were hospitalized after a crash Saturday afternoon on State Road 528, Orange County Fire Rescue personnel said.

The crash happened around 4:20 p.m. on State Road 528 near mile marker 21 in Orange County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was headed west on State Road 528 when for some reason, the vehicle left the roadway and struck two trees.

The driver and a passenger were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Troopers said the driver suffered critical injuries and the passenger suffered minor injuries.

A child was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Troopers said the child suffered minor injuries.

State Road 528 was shut down in both directions, but has since reopened.
