Gun shots rang out
Ossie Bodie with K104.1 FM participated in the rally and said he and a co-worker were trying to find a place to sit when gunshots rang out.
Bodie said he ran for safety and then immediately started working, telling radio listener what was happening in downtown Dallas, and trying to keep residents informed.
Another witness to the shooting, Marcus Carter, said he is tired of police shootings where black men are killed. The Black Lives Matter supporter said he is “tired." He said the shooter did nothing to accomplish the cause he claimed to support.
"Just because the individual had a badge, you kill him? Like mercilessly. That’s not cool," Carter said.
'I wish I could say I am more surprised but I am not'
Greg Lirette, is a former DART Employee and said he is surprised the shooting happen in Dallas, but not surprised a shooting occurred.
"There is a big hatred for police officers, anybody who is going through any level of training in the military knows how to shoot an M-16," he said.
