Woman flees scene after causing 3-vehicle crash in Orange County, FHP says

Woman seriously injured in crash at Hiawassee Road, Balboa Drive

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Charges are pending against a woman who caused a three-vehicle crash Sunday evening at Hiawassee Road and Balboa Drive, troopers said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 50-year-old Apopka woman in a Chevy Avalanche ran a red light and slammed into the driver's side of a Ford SUV driven by Deborah Anderson, 61, of Orlando.

Troopers said Anderson's vehicle was pushed into a Chrysler vehicle driven by James Williams, 31, of Orlando.

The FHP said the woman responsible for the crash ran from the area on foot after causing the crash.

Anderson was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Williams was taken to Florida Hospital South with minor injuries.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
