Hiya!

Friends, it is I, Brenda (Yes! Me!), and I’m back in your inbox for all the Central Florida happenings!

Recommended Videos

I’m a changed woman. I’ve seen new places and feel ✨ alive ✨. I’m back from SCOTLAND! As my fabulous colleague Sam Dunne, author of the equally fabulous Setting the Stage newsletter, shared with you all last week, I was in fact scaling Scottish castles, pounding gin (can I say that? I can’t believe she said that) and wishing I could play bagpipes, but I did get to see a man play one on the streets of Edinburgh.

Truly a trip I am so thankful to go on and one that became reality after years of just saying I wanted to go 💛!

While I don’t have gifts for you all, I do have a couple photos to share! The photo above is a view at the top of a hike my friend and I did called The Old Man of Storr. It was so beautiful. Doesn’t it seem like another world? I loved every minute of it, even if we dealt with some rain and crazy wind.

And just another photo to share with you all. This one is the view of Edinburgh from Edinburgh castle (which was SO. COOL).

I just loved being able to see the architecture and the mountains behind! Every minute was well spent.

Anyway, I’m back and ready to give you all what you’re really here for 👀: happenings.

So let’s get into it.

Racing pigs, a Ferris wheel, delicious food, oh my.

The Space Coast State Fair is back in town.

You may be thinking, wasn’t this already here? And the answer is yes, but this fair graces Brevard County with its presence twice a year 🎡! If I’m going to be honest, I cannot ride any rides at the fair unless I immediately want to be sick. Instead, I like to walk around, eat some GOOD food (it for sure probably isn’t good for you) and just spend time with whoever I’m with.

And if you’re like me, the Space Coast State Fair has a reduced ticket price for those who just want to walk around and don’t care for the rides.

It all starts tomorrow! Click here to check out the attractions and the ticket rates.

(MegaCon Orlando)

Only one of the largest conventions is back in Orlando, bringing the biggest TV, movie and gaming stars right here to Central Florida.

MegaCon Orlando showcases fans and pop culture, from sci-fi and fantasy to anime and video games to comic books and cosplay.

News 6 spoke with “The Mandalorian” star Emily Swallow, who plays the Armorer and is one of the stars you can meet at MegaCon, about her role in the show and her acting journey. We also spoke with Henry Winkler about his long acting career, spanning six decades.

And let me tell ya, in addition to those two, the lineup is insane.

Other happenings:

🌲 Fiesta in the Park: Spend time at the beautiful Lake Eola with a beer garden, artist booths and various food vendors. Here’s what you need to know.

🎭 Orlando theatre’s programming promises renaissance fairs, drag queens and more: The Renaissance Theatre Company is experiencing an arts programming revival to fit its name. In addition to a regularly scheduled season of shows and Musical Mondays, featuring a who’s who of local artists at an open mic, the Orlando theatre is introducing weekly Renaissance Fair events. Walt Disney World preparing to end 50th anniversary celebration: It’s coming to an end. Disney’s 50th anniversary celebration is ending tomorrow after an 18-month-long run. Check out all the theme park did to celebrate since October 2021.

And that’s all from me.

Hope you guys enjoyed Sam last week and enjoyed the photos I brought back from my trip.

And speaking of photos, if you have any to share of any event you go to, be sure to share them to our PinIt! page.

Happy to be back and I’ll talk to you all next week!

- Brenda
