This August, we are wrapping up Black Business Month by showcasing the many Black-owned businesses in Central Florida.
Teachers, chefs, athletes, hair stylists, and twins make up the entrepreneurs in our community.

Touch of Class Beauty Bar
A Seminole County hair stylist has dedicated herself to inspiring the next generation to become entrepreneurs and teaching them the financial literacy skills they’ll need in the process. She also regularly hosts hair braiding classes, team building exercises and entrepreneurship courses. You can read about her here.
Taste of Soul
In Volusia County, restaurant “Taste of Soul” is taking its family recipes and serving them up in DeLand. The husband-and-wife duo left their jobs and opened the restaurant seven years ago. News 6 recaps their entrepreneurship journey here.
The Sock Gallery
Their slogan is “Great things come in pairs,” and these twin brothers said they went into the sock business because they felt like it symbolizes them both. The business started in 2015 with a kiosk, moved to a store in the Oviedo Mall in 2017, and is now set to open a spot on International Drive this October. Their story can be found here.
