Is it just me, or did it feel like an oven outside this week? I spent some time at Disney with my family on Monday and Tuesday and it was HOT. I did love seeing the new “Luminous The Symphony of Us” fireworks show at EPCOT though.
Thank you for opening my email, I’m News 6 producer Brooke Savage, the writer behind this Setting The Stage newsletter.

I have some good news. Everything happening in the theatre and art scene right now is happening indoors!
Remember, during my last newsletter, I left you with a clue? Well, now you’re about to find out why!
🔍 A classic whodunit that brings your favorite board game to life
The new comedy, “Clue,” wraps up at the Dr. Phillips Center this weekend!
In the show, murder and blackmail are on the menu. It’s based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie, which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game. The comedy promises to keep the audience guessing and laughing until a final twist at the end. I spoke to John Treacy Egan who plays Col. Mustard and Michelle Elaine who plays Miss Scarlet all about audience interaction and how it plays into the show. Check out my interview with them. News 6 anchor, Lisa Bell, also posted her review of the show. The picture below shows Michelle, our directors Bob and Joe, Lisa and John after the interview.
🏴☠️ Pirates Dinner Adventure has a new show!
You can expect to see new songs, new stunts and a brand-new story in the new show called, “In Search of Neptune’s Treasure” at Pirates Dinner Adventure. The new show comes from acclaimed live entertainment writer and director Michael La Fleur, who has worked with world-class clients including Celine Dion, Cirque du Soleil, The Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios, and more. I had the chance to speak with the creative director at Pirates Dinner Adventure. I loved hearing from Nick Kroger about how he got into the entertainment industry, the process of putting together a new show, and the memories this dinner show has created for nearly 30 years. He also hinted at some special pricing for Florida residents, so keep a look out for that!
🎨 A new art exhibit for you to check out
I am just blown away by the image above. This new art exhibit at Orlando Museum of Art looks so cool. The “2024 Florida Prize in Contemporary Art” exhibit is honoring and recognizing 10 working artists throughout the state. It also allows the museum to support those artists through a contest. See which artist won the $20,000 prize, and which Orlando-based artist won the People’s choice award.

Digital content producer Haley Coomes shared the news in her In the Loop newsletter that came out today. Paramount Pictures’ critically acclaimed film series “A Quiet Place” will come to life starting Aug. 30 at Universal Orlando. I love seeing how ASL is being used more and more in TV, film, theatre and now apparently Halloween Horror Nights. Haley posted all the details here.
