The rainy season has finally arrived! ☔

ORLANDO, Fla. – Hi there, Insiders! Central Florida finally got the rain we’ve all been searching for, even though the rainy season is off to a late start. On Tuesday, many areas picked up between 2-5+” which helped with drought conditions many counties had been experiencing. Unfortunately, south Florida received too much rain in a short period of time and many areas are dealing with widespread flooding.

Hi, meteorologist Michelle Morgan here, talking about the much-needed rain and about more coming our way across central Florida. I don’t know about you, but I’m so happy to give my sprinklers a break.

What’s interesting is that the rain came from a common seasonal pattern called the Central American Gyre. Tropical systems can develop from this area of circulating moisture. Click here to learn more.

South Florida closed due to Flooding ⚠️

While in Central Florida the rain has been beneficial in helping our drought situation, the rain in South Florida has been destructive! Crazy video and pictures have been coming from many living down there after they received more than 15 inches of rain. With all the ongoing flooding concerns, several South Florida counties remain in a state of emergency.
