Loving The Quiet Stretch In The Tropics
Knock. On. Wood. Meteorologist Jonathan Kegges with you. After Beryl, the tropics went into a deep slumber. While a lot of people on the internet are asking how can this be with the extremely active season predicted, this is actually pretty normal.
I ALWAYS say if youβre looking to book a Caribbean cruise in hurricane season your best bet, climatologically speaking, is during the second and third week of July. Now, it wonβt always work like this, but more often than not itβs pretty quiet.
The season is currently transitioning between the homegrown storms, Beryl was the rare exception developing way east, to the more long-track storms that originate from Africa and take FOREVER to cross the ocean.
This is a great time to make sure you are prepared for the flurry of tropical activity likely to follow once August arrives.
More than 80% of the season occurs beyond the middle of August so itβs not a time to get complacent.

Recently, my colleagues and I had the opportunity to preview the new βTwistersβ movie, set to hit theaters on July 19, 2024.
Hi everyone, this is meteorologist Michelle Morgan, and Iβm excited to share my thoughts on this exciting new film. But the big question remains: how accurate is it from a meteorological perspective? Click here to discover more and read our reviews.
