My friend and colleague Trooper Steve Montiero asked me what I’m looking forward to most at Epic Universe during Trooper Steve on Patrol.
I’ll be answering that question for a while.

Greetings, In the Loop subscribers. It’s Haley.
In no particular order, here are some epic anticipations:
- Attractions with show buildings: Universal has released specific details on Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. Universal has proven to create attraction experiences that touch almost every sense, and I have high hopes for these two.
- Celestial Park at dark: I’m looking forward to seeing the whole park lit up at night, but seeing that Celestial Park is the heart of the Epic Universe astronomy storyline, experiencing it at night is a must. There was a large budget for lighting
- Bar Helios: I’ve said it before, Epic Universe will be “raising the bar” at the luxurious Helios Grand Hotel. I look forward to admiring the theme park masterpiece below from the rooftop bar.
- The portals: These portals allow us to travel through time and space. They will no doubt be an experience in themselves.
- A brilliant score: Upon hearing the news that Danny Elfman will be providing an original score for Dark Universe, that world will likely not be outranked on my hype list.
Today marks six months until the opening day of Epic Universe. Besides its promise to be the most immersive theme park ever, Epic Universe is expected to boost the Orange County economy and cater to the need of the affordable housing crisis.
Walt Disney World
More mayhem, more changes 🥁
In a surprise announcement at D23, Disney announced that a Monsters Inc. land is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The big question though was where Monstropolis was being built.
What some Muppet fans feared is happening. The south side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, home of Muppet Vision 3D, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano and PizzaRizzo, is being rethemed to Monsters Inc.
While the curtain may be falling on Muppets stage production, they’ll be rocking and rolling at their new Sunset Boulevard residency.
Gatorland
Give the gift of Gatorland 🐊
Theme parks are a perk for Floridians and now is the time of year to take advantage of Black Friday theme park deals.
Launching Nov. 28, Gatorland Orlando is holding Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.
They can be purchased online or at the admission gate and what makes this deal even better is that you’ll get a free Jawlene plush with purchase while supplies last.
Legoland Florida
‘Brick’ Friday at Legoland 🎄
But wait, there are more theme park Black Friday discounts to be had.
Merlin Entertainments — which owns Legoland, Peppa Pig Theme Parks and SEA LIFE Florida Aquariums — is having a Black Friday deal.
Starting Nov. 26 through Dec. 2, families can save on tickets and annual passes.
