Annual run to raise awareness on organ donations held this weekend

LONGWOOD, Fla. – The importance of organ donations will be declared loud and clear Saturday, April 2 at Lyman High School in Longwood.

April is National Donate Life month and for the 11th year in a row, Lyman High School is holding the Gr8 to Don8 5K and 8K races to honor this time.

It benefits “Our Legacy,” Central Florida’s organ donor program. The school is expecting 1,000 participants on Saturday.

The races educate participants and encourages different organ donations, such as eye and tissue donations. Race organizers say one registered donor can save up to eight lives.
