KANSAS CITY – The Saturday night NFL playoff game pitting the Miami Dolphins against the Kansas City Chiefs will not be televised, at least in the traditional sense.

Rather, it will be exclusively livestreamed on NBC’s Peacock service, the first NFL playoff game to do so. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

According to the Palm Beach Post, watchers in the “local” market — including Fort Lauderdale and Miami — will be able to see the game on their regional NBC affiliate, while fans elsewhere must either subscribe to Peacock or seek out a business that’s showing the game.

Ahead of the game, Peacock is advertising one year of access for $29.99, increasing to $59.99 annually upon renewal. Monthly memberships start at $5.99, or $11.99 per month for Premium Plus with minimal ads and offline downloading. Additionally, eligible college and university students can get a year of Peacock at a rate of $1.99 per month, coming out to about $24, the website states.

The game, hosted by the Chiefs, will take place as an arctic blast freezes a large portion of the country and is expected to be among the coldest in NFL history.

News 6 meteorologist Jonathan Kegges on Thursday discussed the potential impact the freeze will have on the game during his Weather Wise segment. According to Kegges, temperatures could be running 30-40 degrees colder than normal across the middle of the Lower 49 states at that time.
