Sonic Prep Player of the Week: Taevion Swint

Swint plays football for Osceola High School

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Osceola High School’s Taevion Swint has run all over the competition in Central Florida since his freshman year.

The star running back is just weeks away from starting his final season as an Osceola Kowboy, and he’s on the verge of major milestones. Swint is less than 200 yards away from 3,000 career yards and two rushing touchdowns shy of 40 career touchdowns.

“I’m real excited,” Swint told News 6 about his upcoming senior season. “I know this year is going to be a long journey. The goal is states (championship); that’s everybody’s goal. But we’re trying to go to states and more.”

Swint passed up offers from Florida, Georgia, Florida State and more. He is committed to UCF and becoming a Knight.

“Just the environment and coaches,” Swint said is what attracted him to UCF. “Coach Cam Martin, the (UCF) running back coach, and the head coach, Coach Gus Malzahn. He made it feel like home; that’s the spot.”
