In the second game of the 2024 season, the Braves beat the Hagerty Huskies 49-28.
The team knows they can count on Johnson being a coach on the field. After all, Sam’s dad, Andy Johnson, is the Boone head coach.
“It’s good; it’s just like any other coach to player,” Sam told News 6. “Obviously, there are perks to being his son. But it’s been good. I love playing for him; it’s been great. I think the pressure the coaches put on us really helps us. Even if (my dad) puts more pressure on me sometimes, I know he’s doing it for the best.”
