ORLANDO, Fla. – Christian Robbins is part of a stellar defense on the undefeated football team at Jones High School.
The senior is a quarterback-turned-defensive back, and he’s used his offensive knowledge to boost the Fightin' Tigers defense. Jones has shut out their opponent three times this season.
“I used to play quarterback,” Robbins reflected. “So reading quarterbacks with that top-hand coming off the ball... or some quarterbacks, they look directly at their receivers the whole time. Being on the offense transitioning to the defense was a big help, really.”
Robbins is getting looks from different Florida schools to play college football, and he’s glad he took the opportunity to join the defense.
“When you have a coach like Coach Will, he can see things in you that you don’t see,” Robbins told News 6. “And he saw I was capable enough to be an athlete. So him switching me to (this) position, and now that I’m getting looks (from colleges) at this, he knows what he’s talking about, and I’m just following my process.”
