WINTER PARK, Fla. – Janiel De Los Santos is setting the standard for the Lake Howell boys' basketball team.
The senior point guard is averaging 16 points per game for the Silverhawks, and he’s helped spearhead a winning mindset.
“My play brings my team along,” De Los Santos told News 6. “I try to keep my body language high on the court and my attitude high so my teammates don’t drop their shoulders either.”
Lake Howell has won 17 games this season, eclipsing last year’s record.
De Los Santos knows his teammates look up to him, and he understands that responsibility.
“I just try to hold everybody accountable to their standards and bring their standards up,” De Los Santos said. “I have to lead first so they’ll follow me. If I’m setting a bad example, they’re going to see that that’s a good thing to do. So, I have to keep my attitude high.”
