ORLANDO, Fla – Eight new pickleball courts are now open and ready for play in Orange County.

The courts at Downey Park officially opened to the public on Tuesday, May 28 with help from Mayor Jerry Demings, who cut the ribbon during a grand opening ceremony.

The courts are open every day from 8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m., and people can play free of charge.

There are designated play times scheduled according to skill level:

  • Monday through Sunday - 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - All Skill Play
  • Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday - 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. - All Skill Play
  • Monday, Wednesday - 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. - Skilled Play 4.0+

The county says all other times are set aside for walk-on play using a paddle queue system.

Downey Park is located at 10107 Flowers Avenue.
