Justin Warmoth joins Lake Mary All-Stars family, fans for slide down hill at World Series

Team takes on Sioux Falls in first game in Williamsport, Pa.

WILLIAMSPORT, Penn. – The Lake Mary All-Stars are set to go up against Sioux Falls in their first game of the World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

But before the big game Wednesday night, the Lake Mary team’s siblings and fans took a tumble down a local hill.

The tradition has come about in recent years, with teams at the Little League World Series sliding down the hill overlooking the field at Lamade Stadium.

On Wednesday afternoon, News 6′s Justin Warmoth joined the Lake Mary All-Stars’ siblings and fans as they slid, ran and rolled down the hill.

The team also go the “rockstar treatment” on Tuesday when they took part in the World Series parade, joining 19 other teams for a 1-mile trek through downtown Williamsport.

“It’s just incredible,” said Michelle Anderson, a mother to one of the players. “It’s just another piece of the dream coming true.”

The first pitch for Wednesday’s matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m.
