Zachery “Zach” Lashway anchors KPRC 2+ Now. Zach joined KPRC 2 in 2021.

During his time at KPRC 2, Zach has covered several major stories and was the first and only Texas reporter to travel to Poland to cover the humanitarian crisis amid the Ukraine-Russia conflict two years in a row. Zach traveled to Philadelphia to cover World Series 2022 and to Los Angeles for Super Bowl LVI. He has flown with US Customs and Border Protection officials over the Gulf of Mexico to see how it intercepts security threats and has gone behind the scenes with Transportation Security Administration personnel as they train flight attendants on self-defense. Zach also hosts a new KPRC original series 'Solvable' that sheds light on cold cases within marginalized communities. 

Prior to joining KPRC 2, Zach was co-anchor of The Morning Show weekend edition at WJXT-News4JAX in Jacksonville, Florida. While in the Sunshine State, he reported throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and during the 2020 presidential election--Zach broke the news live on the air that Joe Biden was the projected winner of the 2020 presidential election. Other notable stories he covered include the Boeing 737-800 crash at N.A.S JAX and the deadly mass shooting at The Jacksonville Landing.

Zach was also an anchor/reporter at KARE 11 in the Twin Cities. Notable stories he covered during his tenure in Minnesota include the deaths of Prince and Mary Tyler Moore; the police-involved shootings of Jamar Clark, Philando Castile and Justine Damond; Senator Al Franken’s resignation and Super Bowl LII. Zach also covered Hurricane Matthew’s devastation along the First Coast and surrounding counties in 2016.

Before working and living in the Upper Midwest, Zach was an anchor/reporter at PHL 17 in Philadelphia. There he covered Pope Francis’ visit to the United States; Superstorm Sandy’s destruction; President Obama and Michelle Obama’s visits to Philadelphia; the death of Beau Biden and the deadly derailment of Amtrak 181.

Zach’s first broadcasting job was as a morning anchor at KRTV/KXLH in Montana.

He is a two-time Edward R. Murrow Award recipient and Emmy-nominated journalist. He has won three Grahammy Excellence Awards with KPRC’s and WJXT’s parent company Graham Media Group. 

A graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, Zach was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York.

Zach lives in Houston with his beloved Saint Bernard, Sully.
