BAY LAKE, Fla. – Walt Disney World has announced that The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort will officially open to Disney Vacation Club members on July 1.
Last year, Disney announced that the cabin hideaways would be getting refreshed as part of a collection of improvement projects at the resort.
Disney said the proposed cabins would be built with an eye toward the environment, utilizing the footprint of the existing cabins and taking advantage of more energy-efficient features.

“The new cabins will be a relaxing retreat nestled in the scenic woodlands of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The first loop will open on July 1 with a second loop opening later in the month, and more throughout the year,” Disney said on its blog.
Nestled across 750 acres of scenic woodlands, Disney said each cabin will sleep up to six people, and a select number of cabins will accommodate dogs. The new accommodations will feature spacious amenities including a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, oven, 65-inch TV and sofa. The cabins will also feature a queen-size Inova murphy bed from the wall, queen-size bed, twin-size bunk beds, closet and nightstand.
Disney put out the following dates for bookings:
- Feb. 1 – Disney Vacation Club sales for The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort open to existing members. Members can add-on by contacting their Disney Vacation Club Guide or calling sales at (800) 500-3990.
- Feb. 15 – Disney Vacation Club Members who have added on points at The Cabins can begin to book stays online at DisneyVacationClub.com or by calling Member Services at (800) 800-9800.
- Feb. 27 – Disney Vacation Club sales for The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort open to the general public.
- March 12 – New Disney Vacation Club Members whose home resort is The Cabins can begin booking online at DisneyVacationClub.com or by calling Member Services at (800) 800-9800.
- April 23 – All Disney Vacation Club members can book stays either online at DisneyVacationClub.com or by calling Member Services at (800) 800-9800.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort offers guests several experiences including outdoor recreation activities, horseback riding at Tri-Circle D Ranch, the beloved Disney dinner show, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and the nightly celebration, Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-Along.
