ORLANDO, Fla. – Country music singer and songwriter Elle King will not perform as part of Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras concert lineup.

The “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer was originally scheduled to take the Music Plaza stage on Feb. 17 as part of the Universal Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval.

King has been hit with controversy in recent days following her profanity-laced performance last Friday at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. King was in the historic auditorium as part of the Grand Ole Opry’s tribute to Dolly Parton’s birthday. Videos on social media show King’s performance as she struggled to perform and used profanity.

“I wish she (Dolly) would’ve been there because Elle King ruined the night with her horrible, drunk, and profane performance. Dolly Parton would’ve been mortified. For our first time at The Opry, it was a shame we all had to witness that,” one person wrote on the Grand Ole Opry’s social media.

The Grand Ole Opry took to social media to apologize for King’s performance.

Elle King rescheduled a small number of upcoming performances including one Friday night in Texas. King’s website still shows a lineup of other tour dates which begin in March.

Universal Orlando said it adjusted its concert schedule replacing King’s performance with singer and songwriter Nessa Barrett.

Other headliners scheduled for the popular event include Walker Hays, Queen Latifah, The All-American Rejects, Luis Fonsi, DJ Khaled, Ava Max and Zedd.

Universal Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval begins Feb. 2.
