Kennedy Space Center

For space fans, what better way to celebrate Leap Day than at the place where the first crewed mission to the lunar surface was launched?

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” was heard on July 20, 1969, nowhere near Leap Day, but that timeless quote has plenty of symbolism.

The Kennedy Space Center has exhibits dedicated to NASA’s history of moon exploration. At the Apollo/Saturn V Center, guests can walk beneath a Saturn V rocket or relive the moments leading up to the first words ever spoken on the moon by watching it all at the Lunar Theater.

On the outside grounds, it’s worth taking a stroll around the Moon Tree Garden.

Walt Disney World

Instead of park hopping, how about park leaping?

If you’re an Annual Passholder or have a park hopper ticket on Feb. 29, you can get a kick out of going to more than one park on Leap Day. You can also take advantage of the Lightning Lane or in this case the Leap Lane.

Discovery Cove

The tropical day resort is known best for its up-close encounters. Discovery Cove is highlighting a few of their “hoppiest” animals.

From playful primates on Marmoset Island to thousands of exotic birds in the massive free-flight aviary. The most famous residents by leaps and bounds can arguably be the bottlenose dolphins.

International Drive

Orlando’s Tourist District has plenty to see and do on February’s bonus day.

The Museum of Illusions at ICON Park is granting free entry for those born on Leap Day upon purchase of a ticket for their accompanying guest. A valid ID is required.

At iFLY Orlando, you can endure the feeling of freefalling on Leap Day by skydiving indoors.
