Wheel at ICON Park gets new owner, name. Here’s what it will be called now

Attraction is now owned by Merlin Entertainments

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The attraction formerly known as the Wheel at ICON Park is now under new management.

The giant Ferris wheel was purchased by Merlin Entertainments, which also runs the Legoland and Peppa Pig theme parks, along with Madame Tussauds and other area attractions.

Under the new ownership, the wheel will now be called The Orlando Eye, the attraction’s original name.

The company said it now has five attractions in the Sunshine State.

The Orlando Eye is 400 feet tall and features 30 air-conditioned glass observation capsules that can accommodate up to 15 guests each during a 20-minute ride, according to a news release.
