ORLANDO, Fla. – The newly opened Flamingo Point at Discovery Cove will soon get another pink dash.
The all-inclusive day resort is celebrating the birth of a baby flamingo. The newest Caribbean flamingo chick hatched on June 7 to mom Abbie and dad LJ after following the normal incubation period of 27-31 days. The newest Discovery Cove family member is the second chick for Abbie.

While the chick is not residing in the new habitat just yet, visitors may observe the rest of the graceful flamboyance up close while learning from the park’s expert aviculturists.
Flamingo Point is home to the Flamingo Mingle. The upgraded program starts at just $59 per person and provides the opportunity to meet and mingle with Caribbean flamingos in a safe and controlled environment.
The experience also allows for a question-and-answer session with the park’s expert aviculturists. With a limited number of slots available each day, guests are encouraged to make reservations in advance. Five percent of Flamingo Mingle proceeds will be donated to Audubon Florida as part of a new partnership.
The announcement comes ahead of National Flamingo Day, which is Sunday.
