[RELATED: COLD air to blast into Central Florida after storms move through region]If a shelter gets full, two hotels will be available for safe shelter on Monday and Tuesday. Officials said transportation to the hotels will be provided from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on each of these nights from the Coalition and to other area shelters. The coalition said individuals will be asked a series of coronavirus screening questions and have their temperature taken. The hotels helping out will have staff members from the shelters at the locations.

(WKMG)John Beard, who said he’s had a very trying year, said he was grateful to have received a meal on Thanksgiving Day and thanked the Magic for their generosity. Thanksgiving breakfast was prepared for more than 400 homeless men, women and children at the Coalition, according to a news release.

According to officials, the individuals have been isolated, and all guests and staff that were potentially exposed have been notified and placed into quarantine. Over the last several months, we have played a critical role in caring for one of the most vulnerable populations in our community at a challenging and unprecedented time, and we take that responsibility seriously, Allison Krall, Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida President/CEO said. To help combat the virus, officials have introduced new safety measures to help keep guests and employees safe.
